Hey all my Nashville friends! For the past 3 years, jester 1 has been a part of a FREE baseball clinic hosted by the Nashville Sounds. Where he learns about catching, batting, throwing and other baseball must-knows. It’s a fun, inspiring and active day for all who participate.
It is for boys and girls between the ages of 6-14.
There are two days that you can choose to attend.
June 15 and June 16. The clinic will run from 9:00-12:00. With a snack provided at the end. In previous years, you are also given tickets to that evenings baseball game!
To register, go to the Chevy Youth Sports website.
- choose Nashville as your market
- enter playbill for the password
Spaces are running out, so sign your boy or girl up now!
If you are in another city, look under the market listings and see if your city is participating in hosting a free baseball clinic as well!

School is out and summer break is in full swing at our house. But, I’m not letting the princess and 3 jesters off the summer hook that easy. I have a couple of “school” directed activities for them to take part in. One of them is to sign them up for a summer reading program. There are 2 that I would like for them to be a part of.
- Barnes and Noble has a great one for kids. They need to read 8 books of their choice, once finished they can choose a free book that is listed on the B&N book list.
- Our local library has 3 programs to be a part of. Each one for kids, teens and adults. The kids record the books they have read on an activity log and they will receive prizes once turned in. Teens have the chance to win a NOOK e-reader. Adults have to write-up a short review of the book they read and will be entered to win a prize.
I plan on carving out 30 minutes each day for them to read.
I bought the princess and 3 jesters a composition book for them to use as journals. They will have free writing time, where they can write whatever they want. Other days I will give them a topic for them to write about. I will also give them a scripture verse and they will have to write what it means to them. They can also use the journal to draw a picture of whatever they choose. We will have 30 minutes of journaling time each day as well.
We have other summer happenings planned which includes, snow cones, sprinklers, picnics, park time, sidewalk chalk, swimming, etc. (hopefully we will dismiss an ER visit this summer!) We also have a long drive to Colorado in July planned, I will write more about that another time.
What fun-filled activities do you have planned for this summer?

I am sure you’ve heard of Pinterest, right? If not, then you’re either still in Winter hibernation or just in denial. I love this site because it helps me figure out meal plans, crafts for the kids, how I want to organize/clean/decorate my house and play dress up in my virtual closet. Fun and fancy, right?! But, now, I’ve been lingering at similar sites.
This first one is foodgawker. Where you can find bajillions of recipes in every category you can imagine. We all need to eat, right?
Second; craftgawker. Where you can explore and excel in the possibilities of becoming the craftiest person ever!
Third; dwellinggawker. Need to spice up the bedroom? Add some flare to your kitchen? This site will help you get fabulous ideas that you want to decorate your house.
And finally, if you are planning your wedding or a wedding, or maybe you want to renew your vows with you beloved. This site is for you! Weddinggawker
Whatever you find at each of these sites you can always pin them to your boards on Pinterest.
P.S. Gawker means; to gape or stare stupidly. Well, yeah…..
So, get on gaping!
