Mini Sale

Since I don’t have the patience for ebay, and craigslist creeps me out, also since we don’t have enough items to sell to have a yard sale, I’m posting 3 items that I would like to sell. I don’t use these and they are taking up space, so hopefully you do have the space and they can go to another home.

These are Pampered Chef Party Sticks. They have never been used. They are great for picnics, the beach, anywhere to stick them in the ground to hold your 2-liter bottles, wine bottles and glasses. They retail for $39.00. I am asking for $35.00.

Out of the original box, still bundled together. $35.00

This is the Pampered Chef Ultimate Mandolin. I have used it twice. I do like it, but, I have not used it in 2 years. Retail value is $61.00. I am asking for $45.00.

The Ultimate Mandoline comes with 3 interchangeable blades; crinkle cutting, v-shaped slicing and adjustable slicing, also a grating blade. They all store nicely into a compartment.

This is the Imaginarium Train Table. We got this for $160.00 for the 3 jesters 3-4 years ago. It does have some scratches on it. I wiped it down, including the tracks and other gadgets that came with it. I am asking for $30.00

It has 2 drawers on the side to store the tracks, trains and everything else. Not all of the pieces are there. But, if you have a child that is not too peculiar on building a fancy train track, then this train table is for you!

If you would like any of these items, please leave me a comment. I would like to sell to Nashville bound people only.

Serious inquiries only please!

Thank you!

Meal Plan: August 29-September 2

Here is what I’ll be whipping up in my kitchen for dinner this week!

Monday: Sloppy Joes – Even though the canned sauce to make these sandwiches is easy, I like to try different sauce recipes for it. This time around, I’m trying Martha’s recipe. So, it should be good, right?

Tuesday: Ham and Cheese Crescent Roll-Ups – These seem so simple to make and may be a hit for the kids. I think a salad, some fruit and some kind of vegetable will make a nice sidekick with it.

Wednesday: Dinner at church!!

Thursday: Manicotti Pancakes – Whenever I use the store-bought manicotti shells, they always break on me. So, I’m going to try homemade ones and see if I can conquer without it breaking!

Friday: One-Pot Chicken and Brown Rice – I am all about meals in a pot! Getting my taste buds ready for another Martha dish!

My guess is that the princess and 3 jesters are going to like 3 out of the 5 meals this week. Its a battle almost every night with my sweet, cherub, picky eaters!

Please Return Me

The other night, Tuesday to be exact, we took the princess and 3 jesters to Chick-Fil-A to take part in kids’ night. You know, where it’s jammed packed with kids of all ages in the play area and half are screaming and the other half are crying because of the screaming. It is fun for the kids, they do have crafts, a balloon guy, well, a guy that makes animals, swords, etc. out of balloons, music and face painting.

When it was time to go, and the kids ran out of the play area to put their shoes on, I noticed that jester 3 had a slightly larger shoe than his other one. Not only was it a 3 times larger shoe size, it was very much more worn in and scuffed up more than his. As his were brand new back to school shoes.  He went back to get his other shoe, but, his other shoe was not in the play area.

I walked around the entire Chick-Fil-A 3 times looking at all the little feet in that place. His shoe was nowhere to be found. So, being the nice people that we are, we left the size 3, worn, dirty, scuffy shoe in the play area, thinking that the owner will come back for it. Because surely, the parent of the child that took the new, shiny, no scuff marks, size 13 shoe will come back for the size 3 shoe, right?!

I went back yesterday to see if someone had returned jester 3’s shoe. And no. And it’s a mystery to me because the size 3 shoe was gone. Not in the play area, and not in the lost and found. So, I’m thinking that the parent of that child came back for it, because they suddenly realized that their son’s size 3 foot did not fit into a size 13 shoe! And if they did come back for it, why wouldn’t they have returned the size 13 shoe!?

I may need to post a picture of the shoe with a note attached to it saying, ‘Please Return Me’.

And what have we learned from this? Keep your child’s shoe with you at the table, not the play area.

Meal Plan: August 15-19

With school back in session and getting back into a routine, I’m posting my meal plan for the week. Enjoy!

Monday: Easy Swedish Meatballs. I’ve made this a few time before, its been awhile. The kids love meatballs and since we are Swedish, what better way to make these delicious, simple ones!

Tuesday: Chicken Tortilla Soup. This is so easy and yummy to make! It’s from my Fix-It and Forget-It cookbook.

4 chicken breasts

2 – 15 oz. cans black beans, undrained

2 – 15 oz. cans Mexican stewed tomatoes

1 cup salsa

4-oz. can chopped green chilies

14 1/2 oz. can tomato sauce

tortilla chips

shredded cheese

Combine all ingredients, except chips and cheese. Cook in slow cooker for 8 hours on low, or 5-6 hours on high. Shred chicken when done, place soup in bowl over chips, top with cheese.

Wednesday: Our activities at church begin on this night, which includes eating dinner there! Yay! A night off from cooking!

Thursday: Sweet & Sour Chicken Stir-Fry. Another simple, tasty meal that we all enjoy!

Friday: Rotini and Cheese. This dish looked easy enough to make and my kids like peas and bacon, put them together and BAM! Happy, full bellies!

And this concludes our dinner meals for the week! I like to be able to ‘KISS’ my recipes! (Keep It Simple, Stupid!)

Its Called A ‘Personal Life’ For A Reason

Jesters 2 & 3 and I had a fun morning running all over town to Target, a snack at Panera, the mall and The Factory. While at the mall and taking a break from riding up and down the escalators, we headed over to the food court to have lunch. Jester 2 wanted pizza and jester 3 Chinese food.

While standing in front of the cashier to pay for the cheese pizza slice and drink, the young male twenty-something blurted out to his co-worker;

“Oh my gosh! There’s Johnny. I know he’s going to come over here and ask me out. He won’t stop.”

Co-worker: “Just play hard to get. I’m sure he likes that.”

I stared intently at the cashier with that be-quiet-I’m-done-with-you mom look.

he didn’t recognize that look, and no apology. He just rang up our order and took my money.

I don’t think jesters 2&3 heard him, and if they did, they surely would not understand what he was talking about.

Its called a personal life for a reason, especially if you are “batting for the same team”. And I, as a customer don’t want to hear it.

And now, I have a 3 minute TMI overload scene that will replay in my mind every time I go to the food court.
